A new year always brings new resolutions, new goals and new commitments. Far too often these things are short lived. In this season, I want to encourage you and others to remember that it is not how we start but how we finish. We must stop leaning on our own strength and seek strength in the Lord. I welcome this season of new beginnings and all that God has for me. This new blog, as an effort to educate and encourage others, is only the beginning. I believe that this year will be the best year of my life and it can be for you too.
For far too long, I’ve been frustrated by my rocky start to change, my setbacks or overall lack of commitment. This year, I am focused, my heart has changed and I will stay focused on the end results. I will finish strong. I may stumble, I may even fall but I will not give up, I will keep running. Better yet, I will win because I am the only person in my race and I am the only person that can win or lose it. I am pressing forward to be better than I was the day before; boldly speaking about the gospel and my change (even when folks try to bring up my past or try to discredit me); learning from my mistakes and growing wiser; sharing my knowledge and testimony with you and others so you will be encouraged as you run your best race.
May God’s peace and grace be with you as you keep pressing forward.
